The Deli Spices manufacturing plant and head office at 25 Bertie Avenue, Epping Industria 2, Cape Town, is a substantial food-processing and warehousing facility serving the South African and broader Sub-Saharan food industry. Deli Spices, founded in 1981 by Walter Haller, specialises in seasoning and additive blends, natural spices and herbs, flavourants, meal-creation ingredients, functional ingredients, casings and food-processing equipment. The company became part of a strategic partnership with the international MANE Group in 2017.
The facility incorporates approximately 7,500 m² of production, milling, blending, laboratory and warehousing space. Its manufacturing operations include a multi-storey blending unit with different blender types and sizes, while the warehousing operation uses computerised picking and traceability systems. The plant is designed around the stringent hygiene, quality-control and food-safety requirements associated with industrial food production.
The aerial photograph highlights the large-span industrial architecture of the facility, with a series of curved metal roof bays providing extensive column-free internal production and storage areas. The building is surrounded by service yards, loading areas, delivery vehicles, covered parking and associated industrial premises, illustrating the operational character of Epping Industria as one of Cape Town’s major manufacturing and distribution districts.
