Aerial View of Cape Town Container Terminal, Table Mountain and Cape Town Harbour

R1800,00

This expansive aerial photograph looks across Table Bay towards the Port of Cape Town, capturing the Cape Town Container Terminal, the harbour’s extensive rail and road infrastructure, and the dramatic backdrop of Table Mountain. The container terminal occupies the centre of the image, with rows of ship-to-shore cranes, container stacks and berthed vessels clearly visible within the Ben Schoeman Dock.

The Cape Town Container Terminal has operated since 1977 and is a major gateway for containerised cargo moving between the Western Cape and international markets. The terminal is particularly significant for the export of deciduous fruit, fresh produce and other refrigerated cargo, while its extensive road and rail connections link the port to its inland supply chain.

The wider harbour infrastructure is clearly visible across the photograph, including extensive rail sidings, cargo-handling areas, breakwaters and quay facilities. Beyond the port, the dense urban fabric of Cape Town stretches towards the slopes of Table Mountain, with Devil’s Peak and Signal Hill also contributing to the distinctive mountain-and-city setting. The image illustrates the close relationship between Cape Town’s international maritime gateway and the city’s major urban and transport infrastructure.
