Nairobi Central Business District Skyline, Kenya – Tusker and LG Towers

This striking elevated photograph captures the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD), Kenya, with a dense concentration of commercial buildings forming the city’s historic urban skyline. The image was photographed in 2015 and records a period when Nairobi’s CBD was undergoing significant commercial development and renewal.

A prominent feature of the scene is the tall modernist office tower carrying the “This Is Tusker Country” advertising campaign, alongside the neighbouring building displaying a large LG rooftop sign. The Tusker campaign was widely displayed across Nairobi during this period and became a highly visible element of the city’s commercial streetscape. Kenyan parliamentary records from 2015 specifically noted the presence of Tusker advertising on buildings in Nairobi.

The photograph also captures a number of Nairobi’s established office and commercial buildings, creating a valuable architectural record of the city before many of its newer high-rise developments transformed the skyline. Dramatic storm clouds above the CBD contrast strongly with the dense urban architecture, while the foreground reveals multi-level parking and commercial buildings.
