1@Steps Office and Virgin Active Development, Windhoek

A 2017 street-level view of 1@Steps, a contemporary mixed-use office and recreational development in Kleine Kuppe, Windhoek, Namibia. The building occupies a prominent corner at Grove and Chasie Streets, with the photograph showing its modern office block, ground-level commercial facilities and prominent tenant signage.

Developed as part of Hilltop Estate, 1@Steps forms part of a large private commercial precinct that includes the Grove Mall of Namibia, Virgin Active Kleine Kuppe, Lady Pohamba Private Hospital, Town Lodge and other office, retail and medical developments. The wider Hilltop Estate has grown into a major mixed-use node in southern Windhoek.

Construction of 1@Steps commenced in 2014, and the development was completed and began trading in 2015. The project incorporates office accommodation together with a Virgin Active recreational facility, creating a combination of commercial and lifestyle uses.

The photograph also records the surrounding Kleine Kuppe streetscape, including the distinctive rocky hills characteristic of Windhoek’s landscape. Today, 1@Steps continues to accommodate professional offices and businesses, including ESI/DLA Piper Africa Namibia and IJG.
