A long exposure view of 144 Oxford Road, a landmark premium-grade office development at the gateway to Rosebank, Johannesburg. The building’s two sweeping glass office towers frame a spectacular full-height central atrium, creating a distinctive architectural gateway along Oxford Road. The illuminated interiors and reflections of the evening sky emphasise the building’s curved façades and contemporary glass architecture.
Designed by Paragon Architects for Growthpoint Properties, 144 Oxford comprises approximately 36,700 m² of premium office space across nine occupiable floors, supported by six levels of basement parking. The two towers are connected by a central atrium that extends through the full height of the building, providing natural daylight, visual connectivity and a dramatic communal circulation space.
Sustainability was integral to the design, with the development achieving a 5-Star Green Star SA rating. The building incorporates high-performance glazing, solar shading, photovoltaic integration, energy-efficient systems and water-saving technologies. The development subsequently became the Johannesburg headquarters of major corporate occupiers including Anglo American.
