The Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital formerly called Johannesburg General Hospital (Joburg Gen) is a general hospital in Parktown, Johannesburg, Gauteng. The 1000 bed hospital is also the main teaching hospital for Wits University, faculty of Health Sciences. This hospital was built on the site of the first Parktown mansion which was the the home of Sir Lionel and Lady Florence Phillips.
