    NEW YORK – Sep. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/- The Israel Ministry of Tourism today released new records for tourist arrivals in Israel from the United States in July and august. The country welcomed 78,000 Americans during July 2022. It was a four percent increase from 2019, while 71,000 American tourists visited Israel in August 2022.

    “It is so exciting to see yet another increase in tourist numbers to Israel from the United States, already reaching and exceeding our record-breaking numbers in 2019,” stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. “The United States is the leading market for Israel inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, we were celebrating record-breaking numbers of tourism entry each month. It’s a great positive change that we are pleased to witness and anticipate an increase in the many months to come.”

    In line with the United States, Canada is also on track to exceed its tourist arrivals in Israel by 7,200 tourists in July 2022 and 6,600 in August.

    Israel received more than 4.6 million international visitors in the year 2019, with 969.600 of them coming from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all visitors, regardless whether they’re immunized. The country already has hosted more than 600,000 visitors.
