Ponte City Apartments, commonly known as Ponte Building, is one of Johannesburg’s most iconic architectural landmarks and one of the most recognisable residential towers in South Africa. Rising 173 metres above the Berea skyline, the distinctive cylindrical skyscraper has become a symbol of Johannesburg’s urban identity and architectural innovation.

Completed in 1975 and designed by renowned architect Manfred Hermer, Ponte City was celebrated for its revolutionary circular design featuring a dramatic open-core centre that provides natural light and ventilation throughout the building.
